A Beautiful Burden

I know I’m a burden, but I’m a goddamn beautiful one. As much now as the day I was born. Equally burdensome, equally beautiful.

Give up on being a saint. Forget the lie of “self-sufficiency.” You were born a burden, and you will die a burden. This is the human condition. We need each other, from the moment our eyes meet, to the moment they part for eternity.

Get used to being “needy.” Get used to being needed. We are not dominoes standing alone. The first domino fell when the first human was born. And each of us has leaned on and been leaned upon ever since.
