Forgiveness has been on my mind. Maybe because it is the only force which really heals.
Despite the sweeping misconception, morality is not upheld by the weighty pillars of guilt and responsibility. Guilt does not heal. Blame does not hold the mighty power of reparation.
Only forgiveness heals. And forgiveness begins with forgiving ourselves. Only then, can we really love others. Forgiveness is the opposite of guilt. When we hold ourselves responsible, we are driven to seek the forgiveness of others. Rather than offering love, we end up asking for it. Rather than giving love, we end up taking it.
Presence is the forgiveness we seek. It is the wisdom of Oneness, and the awareness that all deeds flow from a single, higher Source. When we don’t take responsibility for our actions, but rather attribute all movement to the Divine, we make room for the natural capacity of Love. When we forgive “ourselves” first, we are loving ourselves, and only then can we give love to others.
Forgiveness is our true Self, so we don’t have to do anything to Forgive. We only have to open our eyes and see that everything is already Forgiven.
