A life built on false pillars will always come crashing down. Any step “forward” we take in dishonor of our true being is not really a step forward at all. Our true colors will always shine through. And until we learn to embrace them, we will continue to suffer the instability of flimsy facades and tenuous “triumphs.”
The only real triumph is being true to ourselves. To live by the muse of the moment, whether it is steeped in anxiety or sadness, anger or despair. When we neglect our own energies, we end up on a treadmill: though our feet are moving, we don’t really get anywhere.
The only concrete path forward is to firmly embrace the ground we are on, and to walk as slowly and “imperfectly” as our sacred heart sees fit.
