Shelter

If you are sad, I’m not going to tell you to “cheer up.”

If you are angry, I’m not going to say “calm down.”

If you are teetering on the edge of despair, I’m not going to insist that life is a miracle and that you should embrace it.

I am going to treat the storm within you like I would a storm above you. I will share in your madness and grief. I will shelter you with Presence. I will keep you safe with Love.

We will be children together, waiting out the storm.
